Yo Yo Mundi - Freccia Vallona

Artist: Yo Yo Mundi

Song: Freccia Vallona

Album: La Diserzione Degli Animali Del Circo (1994)

About the band

About the album.

uoh, uh, oh, salutandomi
uoh, uh, oh, come il nuovo campione
uoh, uh, oh, mi consuma, mi emoziona
questa Freccia Vallona

Some people call me a nihilist.
Say I don't believe in a thing.
I know that can't be true, 'cause baby I believe in you

I'll tell you something

Cold dark eyes, the deeper they stare,
underrate me, I don't even care.
Pass your judgement or leave me alone,
Just hurry up and decide.
I'm done caring what anyone thinks,
I'll just carry on living my life.

These misconceptions, you've got so wrong.
These misconceptions.
In this life, I want nothing, expect nothing, never let down.
In this life, I want nothing, but the truth I know I've found.

Cold dark eyes, why do they care.
Don't understand me, like I'm not even there.
On the outside, looking right out,
to tell you the truth I'm just fine.
I'm not caught up in anyones standards.
I'm just looking out keeping what's mine.

These misconceptions, you've got so wrong.
These misconceptions.
In this life, I want nothing, expect nothing, never let down.
In this life, I want nothing, but the truth I know I've found.

On my death bed, when I look back,
I want to know that I lived for myself.
On my death bed, when I look back,
I'll know I lived my life for nobody else.

Some people call me a nihilist.
Say I don't believe in a thing.
I know that can't be true, 'cause baby I believe in you
You can call me a nihilist, you can call me whatever you want
I know that can't be true, 'cause baby I believe in you

These misconceptions, you've got so wrong.
These misconceptions.
In this life, I want nothing, expect nothing, never let down.
In this life, I want nothing, but the truth I know I've found.

The Uncle Devil Show - Leonardo's Bicycle

Artist: The Uncle Devil Show

Song: Leonardo’s Bicycle

Album: A Terrible Beauty (2004)

The Uncle Devil Show are a pop-rock guitar band formed as a side-project for three Scottish musicians, who use pseudonyms as their aliases.

The album

Leonardo's bicycle and me
Away from all the trains and cars, alone with gears and handlebars, I'm free
Leonardo's bicycle and me

Why bother paint a picture that isn't sunny?
Wine gums and Irn-Bru
With milk and honey

When I feel low I just get out my bike
Or rainbow-coloured trike
And ride away

Leonardo's bicycle and me
Away from all the trains and cars, alone with gears and handlebars, I'm free
Leonardo's bicycle and me

My map of many colours
A bird in every tree
I'm riding high on rubbers
The road belongs to me

When I feel sad I just get out my bike
Or rainbow-coloured trike
And ride away

Leonardo's bicycle and me
Away from all the trains and cars, alone with gears and handlebars, I'm free
Leonardo's bicycle and me

Leonardo's bicycle and me
Leonardo's bicycle and me
(He left it standing by the tree)
Leonardo's bicycle and me
(Now his two wheels belong to me)
Leonardo's bicycle and me
(His bell and chain have set me free)
Leonardo's bicycle and me
(He takes the bus and curses me)
Leonardo's bicycle and me

Ballboy - Olympic Cyclist

Artist: Ballboy

Song: Olympic Cyclist

Album: Club Anthems (2001)

Ballboy are a four piece indie band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in the late 1990s, the band have released five albums between 2001 and 2008.

Club Anthems is a collection of the songs released on their first three EPs, Silver Suits for Astronauts (1999), I Hate Scotland (2000), and Girls Are Better Than Boys (2001), although some tracks were re-recorded for the album release.

You did a perfect job last night
You shaved your legs and you washed your bike
And you looked like an olympic cyclist to me
And in the athens velodrome
I listened to the crowd roar you home
You were just a blur when you went passed me

After the trials, after it all
You can see for miles
And i can't see at all

I had a perfect afternoon
The afternoon that i spent with you
In brighton on the beach and in the sea
And in your tiny council flat
Relive the memories that take you back
To athens and your rain-soaked sprint for gold

And i knew that you were the one
And i still know it
And i know that you are the only one
With the strength and the sense to get me through it

After the trials, after it all
You can see for miles
And i can't see at all

You did a perfect job last night
You shaved your legs and you washed your bike
And you looked like an olympic cyclist to me
And in your tiny council flat
Relive the memories that take you back
To athens and your rain-soaked sprint for gold

For gold

Pretty & Twisted - Ride!

Artist: Pretty & Twisted

Song: Ride!

Album: Pretty & Twisted (1995)

Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde and Marc Moreland of Wall of Voodoo!

Ex-Concrete Blonde vocalist and bassist Johnette Napolitano waited two years after her former band broke up to form Pretty & Twisted with guitarist Marc Moreland and drummer Danny Montgomery. Less aggressive than Concrete Blonde but still rooted in the same tradition, the band's self-titled debut was released in 1995 on Warner Bros.

don't worry, honey
and don't look back
the past is past let it fade to black
don't chew your teeth and twist up inside
just ride, baby, ride

ride, baby, ride
into the sun, into the sky
ride, baby, ride
ride, baby, ride

why don't you go down to mexico
when the sun goes down
listen to the seguaro
when the sun is low
ride, baby, ride
into the sun and into the sky
ride, baby, ride
ride baby, ride

...hit me with your anger
load your weight upon my shoulder
I won't break 'cause I can take it
'cause I'm stronger and I'm older

ride, baby, ride
into the sun and into the sky
ride, baby, ride
ride baby, ride

The bicycle is at 1:43

Primus - Pudding Time

Artist: Primus

Song: Pudding Time

Album: Suck On This (1989)

Primus is all about Les Claypool; there isn't a moment on any of their records where his bass isn't the main focal point of the music, with his vocals acting as a bizarre side-show.

The first Primus album was actually a fairly canny way for the band to get itself recorded ()

You can have a lolly pop
a candy bar a jelly bean.
I'll buy you a rainbow
to hang above your door.
It's pudding time.
Laughter is a sweet
You can't put a price on.
When laughter's all gone
Daddy won't buy you more.
It's pudding time.
It's pudding time children.
Money money monye
To buy you things.
Daddy's gonna buy you a
diamond ring.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

San Francisco bay the
Striped bass are dying.
But you're gonna get
That brand new bike
Oh joy
It's pudding time
It's pudding time children.

Song: U-Lock Justice

Album: Wall Of Death The System

R.A.M.B.O. (often referred to simply as Rambo) were an American punk rock band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This song is about biking in traffic and getting the only kind of justice you can.

for everytime i hear them say
get the fuck out of the way
i will defend my right of way
that heap of steel i'm gonna slay
i'll thrash you i'll bash you
i'll kick in your doors
break out your windows
and scratch your paint
apologize for oil wars
apologize for polluting my air
in some cases cars are ok
but when i'm on the street
you're all my enemies

MC Chris - Kill It

Album: MCChriss Is Dead (2008)

Mc chris (born Christopher Brendan Ward IV on September 2, 1975, Libertyville, Illinois) is an American rapper, voice actor, writer and improvisational comedian.

mc chris is dead is the fifth album by hip-hop artist mc chris and was released May 27, 2008 for digital download from Amazon.com, iTunes, and Zune Marketplace while the hard copy became available for preorder at indiemerchstore.com on April 28, 2008 which had six more tracks than the digital download copies. The album is dedicated to Murray Walter Goff, mc chris' newborn nephew who was diagnosed at birth with Cystic fibrosis.

Believe it or not I am rocking the mic
An easy combo to remember like the lock on your bike
My name is mc chris havin' the time of my life
Turn the mic into dynamite, like Yosemite might, right?
Cause I got the beats and I got the flavor
The narcs on my fart like the ark's got raiders
I'm makin' paper you're makin' excuses
You're abusing glue sticks
Sorry but the shoe fits
You're what's called a nuisance, I'm a new artist
Only got the farthest cause I'm workin' the hardest
So F you hated B's need to chill real soon
Take a hammer to your grill, like I'm Oh Dae Su
Lego head girl girls that smoke too much doob
kicking ass with the 'stache of a Fu Manchu.
Two blue tattoos, that used to be black
you a bad enough dude to stay off of my back?

chorus

Believe it or not I can out-style all these know-it-alls
Getting greedy 'cause I made a CD at the local mall
Maybe these preemies need their Wheaties, perpetrating in a Powerglove
(??The Rock swiggin' at like a plastic bag of sour nug)
Gotta gargle lava if you wanna spit fire
Save the drama for your mama, we all know that shit's tired.
Just 'cause you're hoping to flow don't mean you can open the show.
You gotta girl and she at home with a head full of holes
I'm like baseball cards, but with mp3s.
I rock bicycle spokes- just a joke MC.
See, you ride up on my grip like I got the gan-yo.
Let me hit the bong slow while I say “RAW Bro!”
This is for the haters. They got something to prove.
If they didn't hate on me then they'd have nothing to do.
Watch me body slam a n00b on the hard concrete.
I make a living musing over hardcore beats.

The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle

And it was in Paris
Just past the Place des Vosges
I went into Muji
Prenez deux noir stylos
I was tipped off to the place
By a friend from London town
She says it's got the nicest stuff to find that was there to be found

The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle

And Mister Shibuya
He owns this subway car
You don't fuck with him any day
No matter who you are
You may have friends in the embassy
But they won't come when you call
You better ride your bike outta here
Before I'm forced to watch you fall

The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle

The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle
The happiest day I know is a Tokyo bicycle

review

Sorry son, this is what I’ve done
This is what I’ve done
It was a long sad supper without you
I had to be cruel to be kind
We have to leave the past behind
La la la
And isn’t it strange how people can change
And isn’t it weird how people I feared
They all seem worthless now

I will ride on my bicycle,
I ride thinking of you
As I’m riding on my tricycle,
I ride

I see the sun in the trees,
And I feel the psychedelic breeze
And I see the sun in the trees,
And I feel the psychedelic breeze

Sorry son, this is what I’ve done
This is what I’ve done
It was a long sad supper without you
Please don’t hold me responsible
I tried and tried
It wasn’t the same without my brain
It wasn’t a game, it wasn’t a game
Oh not now

I will ride on my bicycle,
I ride thinking of you
As I’m riding on my tricycle,
I ride

I see the sun in the trees,
And I feel the psychedelic breeze
I see the sun in the trees,
And I feel the psychedelic breeze

La la la
Sorry son
Oh I am so sorry son

music

Gianni va veloce
veloce può rincorrere il vento
nel tempo che va
comunque sia la logica
corre tra monti e più in là
ritroverà il coraggio di andare
ancora più su
e arriverà in un attimo
parappaparapapappà
e arriverà in un attimo
parappaparapapappà

Gianni guarda il mattino
e prende il primo sole sul viso
che ride di già
è quasi primavera e i suoi sogni

Gianni parla poco
e vede il mondo come potrebbe
vederlo un marziano
e prende tutto quello che va
così perché va
perché la vita ha un senso
se il senso non glielo si dà
e tutto va in discesa
parappaparapapappà
e tutto è già più facile
parappaparapapappà
per Gianni tutto il resto lo è
parappaparapapappà
e tutto è già più facile
parappaparapapappà

Gianni è sempre convinto
che le sue scarpe lucide
sono le scarpe di un re
e aspetta un nuovo giorno
che arriva un nuovo momento
per correre in discesa e in salita
ed il resto dov'è?
per Gianni tutto il resto dov'è?

i can't see straight in the flashing lights
i got a feeling there's gonna be a fight
wrap it up, pack it up saddle up
full tank of liqour in our guts

Drinkem down we gotta a ride
going through the lower east side
day or night mags on the run
looking for trouble
looking for fun
BMX we got suss

Modena City Ramblers - L'Ultima Superstite

Artist: Modena City Ramblers

Song: L’Ultima Superstite

Album: La Grande Famiglia (1996)

Modena City Ramblers (also known as M.C.R.) is an Italian folk band founded in 1991. Their music is heavily influenced by Celtic themes, and can be compared to folk rock music. The band has sold over 500,000 albums. Known for their left-wing politics, their lyrics often speak out against the Mafia and fascism.

La Grande Famiglia is a spectacular recording by the Modena City Ramblers. It represents perhaps the height of their Irish orientation, after which they begin to introduce more South American (Terra e Liberta) and rock/reggae (Fuori Campo) influences. La Grande Famiglia, however is a wonderfully balanced and diverse album, ranging from beautiful ballads, such as "Canzone dalla Fine del Mondo" and "Al Dievel", to foot-stomping sing-alongs like "Banda del Sogno Interrotto". And while the music is usually distinctly Irish (plus an accordian or two), they maintain a strongly Italian orientation, writing songs about the partisans in WWII and anti-Mafia activists, and covering folk singer Francesco Guccini's "La Locomotiva". All in all, this is a vibrant, fun album and a great introduction to the Ramblers' music.

e portata dai parenti in pianura
