5ive - Bicycle Rider

Artist: 5ive

Song: Bicycle Rider

Album: 5ive (2001)

Not to be confused with the British boy band of the same name (heavens no!), Boston-based psych-stoner-doom act 5ive started out as an instrumental duo comprising guitarist Ben Carr and drummer Charlie Harrold. Signed to specialist indie label Tortuga, 5ive's 2001 eponymous debut was at first only released on vinyl, but eventually received a CD version. A second effort, enigmatically named Telestic Disfracture, followed later that year and featured occasional vocal contributions from Milligram singer Jonah J. Jenkins, but nothing has been heard from the group in recent years

5ive produces dirty, long, instrumental metal songs full of distortion and excess. While it consists of no more than six songs, this album is over 50 minutes in length. For those who are into metal to listen to while they study or read a book, this album will do. While the artwork on this release is beautifully arranged, the music seems to lack any means by which to stick out to the listener, but perhaps that's not what the band necessarily wanted. All in all, an interesting idea, but something which only diehards of the metal genre would plunk down hard-earned cash to purchase. ~ Kurt Morris, All Music Guide

(…)This is one of the best CDs I have ever had the chance to own. 5ive play driving/groove/distorted instrumental rock(although I don't want to classify this as anything but outstanding). It is unreal how good this CD is. From the first track to the last (six total), this album is driving, urgent and intense. I bought this album a couple years ago and it has never left the rotation from my car or home CD player. Buy this album!!! Then put it on repeat, and drive as fast as you can. It will make you glad you did.
My favorite tracks are (though all are amazing)-
1) Burning Season and 5) Bicycle Rider

System of a Down - Innervision

Artist: System Of A Down

Song: Innervision

Album: Steal This Album! (2002)

"Innervision" is a song by the band System of a Down. It was released as a promo sampler single and was played on radio stations. This single is the only single released off of Steal This Album! to be non-airplay only.

The song was leaked prior to the album's release, although it was not included in the Toxicity II bootleg, rather than being leaked in a separate way. The origin of the leak is not known. The leaked version features a slightly different arrangement and lyrics.

Well I have a home
Longing to roam
I have to find you
I have to meet you

Signs of your face
Slowing your pace
I need your guidance
I need to seek my inner vision
Inner vision

My pupils dance
Lost in a trance
Your sacred silence
Losing all violence

Stars in their place
Mirror your face
I need to find you
I need to seek my inner vision
Inner vision, Inner vision

It's never too late to reinvent the bicycle
A smile brings forth energy or life
Giving you force
It's never too late to reinvent the bicycle
A smile brings forth energy or life
Giving you force
Vision

Inner vision (x5)

Your sacred silence
losing all violence

Accept - Breaker

Artist: Accept

Song: Breaker

Album: Breaker (1981)

About album Breaker

Formed in Solingen, Germany in the early 70s by wild and crazy frontman, Udo Dirkschneider, Accept forged their way to the top of the 80s metal ranks with their brutal and heavy riffs and Udo’s trademark screeching banshee styled vocal trait. Distinctly original and instantly recognizable, Accept conquered seemingly the entire planet outside the USA. With such classic albums as Restless And Wild, Breaker, I’m A Rebel and Accept finally seeing mid-price status, those Stateside best be keeping their ears open and their balls to the wall!

Udo Dirkschneider: "I would say that this album is the result of pure anger (note: I destroyed 3 microphones during the production). Following our experiences with I'm A Rebel, we made it our goal not to be influenced musically by anyone outside of the band this time. One example are the lyrics of Son of a Bitch that are absolutely anti record company. With this album you can say that the Accept sound was born and brought us attention across Europe and a tour with Judas Priest. Furthermore, this album was a starting point for many musicians to begin playing their own music."

The song BREAKER is a bonafide metal classic and while much credit is givin to FAST AS A SHARK, this song is probably the definitive ACCEPT song, and crafted quite better as well. Be careful not to drive into that brick wall!

review

Rollin' just like thunder,
tryin' to get you down
Mistreatin' ev'rythin',
if you were king he'd take your crown
if you were a dead man
he'd take ya from your grave
He will not mourn for you or me
Happiness he cannot feel
and love to him is so unreal
He burns like hell, he wants you dead,
altogether hate's all he feel
Movin' like spider, killin' off a fly
No hands, just fists, no heart, just rocks
Icicle brains
Bicycle chains
Rulin' like a tyrant,
teasin' ev'ryone around
He drags his legs, he plants his feet
he's bothering the ground
Here and now this man
you see plans his terror free
He's born to rule, a king to be
Icicle brains
Bicycle chains
He's a breaker
He will take ya
Destroyin' all around you
He's a breaker
He's a taker
He'd kill maim destroy to the end
Movin' like a spider
preyin' on the rest
Rulin' like a tyrant,
tyrannosaurus rex
You could be a dead man,
and you won't know why
No hands, just fists,
no heart, just rocks
Icicle brains
Bicycle chains
He's a breaker
He will take ya
Destroyin' all around you
He's a breaker
He's a taker
He'd kill maim destroy to the end

Guns'n'Roses - Chinese Democracy

Artist: Guns’n’Roses

Album: Chinese Democracy  (2008)

It seems that the album cover art shown is the one Axl showed the crowd 6 years earlier. In Hong Kong, China, August 14, 2002, Axl showed the crowd artwork for "Chinese Democracy". Accordingly, the artwork is in a sepaia tone and features a bicycle – with a basket resting on the seat - in front of a wall where someone had grafittied "Guns N' Roses". The photo was taken by Terry Hardin.

Masters Of Reality - Bicycle

Artist: Masters Of Reality

Song: Bicycle

Album: Sunrise On The Sufferbus, 1993

The Masters of Reality, in my opinion the best among the heirs of Black Sabbath (the name resumed the title of the third album, "Masters of Reality" indeed), heavy sounds of grunge and stoner rock include 47 seconds of cycling peace in the disc "Sunrise On The Sufferbus, 1993.

And look at the front cover where, in addition to a nice rabbit cycling, is stressed in the presence of this disc drummer of Cream, Ginger Baker.

Pedal round this lonesome town
