Yo Yo Mundi - Freccia Vallona

Artist: Yo Yo Mundi

Song: Freccia Vallona

Album: La Diserzione Degli Animali Del Circo (1994)

About the band

About the album.

uoh, uh, oh, salutandomi
uoh, uh, oh, come il nuovo campione
uoh, uh, oh, mi consuma, mi emoziona
questa Freccia Vallona

The Trucks - Old Bikes

Artist: The Trucks

Song: Old Bikes

Album: The Trucks (2006)

Electro funk / Pop / Punk from Bellingham, US

music

let's go out for a ride,
pedal on our old bikes
short or far, i don't care,
ride with you, anywhere

and if i go too fast
and it seems i might crash-
pray for me.
pray for me.

pedal pedal chain and metal
we went riding with the devil
pedal pedal chain and metal
we went riding with the devil

blood and concrete don't mix
two black eyes i can't fix
is this a concussion,
or is this confusion.

whiskey on my lips,
scars on both my hips-
is this a concussion
or is this confusion.

pedal pedal chain and metal
we went riding with the devil!

MC Abdominal - Pedal Pusher

Artist: MC Abdominal

Song: Pedal Pusher

Album: Escape From the Pigeon Hole (2008)

My space

Music

New album's called "Escape From the Pigeon Hole". First single is "Pedal Pusher" (produced by Young Einstein of Ugly Duckling), with B-side "Radio Friendly" (prod. by Cut Chemist formerly of Jurassic 5). The album's out already in Japan on Handcut records, dropping in UK/Europe sometime in April on Antidote, & is coming out in Canada March 27th on Do Right! music. Still working on the States & Australia...looking good, will keep you posted here.

Aside from Einstein & Cut, there's also production on there from Format & Fase (of course), as well as Circle Research, DJ Serious, Bird, Phat Tony, Jus Cuz, + a special collabo with my boys Notes to Self. Also, all kinds of sick cuts throughout from 2003 world DMC champ, DJ Dopey.

I'm really hyped & excited to finally get this out...been working on it for the better part of 2 years! For everyone inquiring about shows/touring...all that should be getting underway very soon after the album drops. The only thing confirmed thus far is Japan for the first half of April, but I should know about everywhere else soon...again, will keep you posted here.

Finally...website. Just bought a domain name & should have something up soon. You guessed it...I'll keep you posted here. That's it, that's all...thanks everybody for all your support, Abs.

Note on new "PedalWorkout" Remix EP

We had a remix contest for my track “Pedal Pusher” on myspace a while back. The point was to eventually release the winner’s entry. We ended up getting so many good entries however, that we decided we had to include a few of the runners-up as well. So this little remix EP you’re about to (hopefully) download includes said winner (The Plain Ensemble, hailing from Eugene, Oregon), as well as 2 other mixes…1 from The Commonwealth (a production duo out of Toronto & Chicago respectively), & the other from DJ Maniphest (who’s from Milton Keynes, over in the UK). We also included a live version of the tune, recorded with my new band, “The Obliques”. And then, just because we’re good sports, we’ve also tacked on a few other hard to find remixes & tidbits. You’ve got remixes for “Abdominal Workout” from both Natural Self and Jellybass, as well as “Satan Music” (a tune which came out as the bonus cut on a UK only 12”, that had a run of about 80), & “Beatbox Shit” (up for a Grammy this year in the “most creative song title” category…fingers crossed!!), which has never before seen the light of day. So buy the tracks individually, as you see fit, or take the plunge & shell out for the whole shebang (& enjoy a whopping savings of: 0 cents). Regardless, thanks for the support…yours, Abs (aka the guy who’s too broke to hire someone to write these kinds of things for him).

Radici Nel Cemento - La Bicicletta

Artist: Radici Nel Cemento

Song: La Bicicletta

About

macini kilometri e fatichi sempre poco

veleggio, pedalo senza fretta

è il fiore all'occhiello dell'ingegneria

puoi viaggiare in tondo oppure andare in linea retta

vola vola vola sulla bicicletta

vola sopra il traffico vola sullo stress

vola sull'asfalto su sterrato o su pavé

fa bene allo spirito benissimo all'ambiente

bando alla pigrizia, dico largo all'allegria

tutti in sella a pedalare in compagnia!

veleggio, pedalo senza fretta

tanta pasta asciutta e poi trazione muscolare

Pink Destroyer - Pedal To The Medal

Artist: Pink Destroyer

Song: Pedal To The Medal

Album: Check Your Head (1992)

I'm like a 454 with the four on the floor
Deuce coupe comin' at ya avoiding the capture
Far from stock I'm chopped and ready to rock
In the city of steel catch me cruisin' down the block
But nowadays is difficult I'm out on my own
Drive an 86 jetta hopin' that I could do better
But my car keeps me humble in the concrete jungle
Despite the wear and tear it seems to always get me there

Rebuilt the motor 'cause she decided to blow
And what do you know someone stole my stereo
When it's time to go I put my foot on the floor
Let the diesel do the work I ain't complaining no more
Highways and straight-aways off roads and open roads
No matter where I go I'll be makin' the show
And it's kinda like life when life treats you good
It's not what on the outside it's whats under the hood

Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor

It doesn't matter what you drive it's how you drive what you got
Discipline you could win just let the tires spin and begin
The journey of life with each stride meet me on the other side
Let me know when you arrive sometimes we collide
Be sure that you're insured got the back up plan alternative program
Who I am doesn't reflect material wealth my vehicle approaches stealth
All the fools want to show off and shoot off their mouths
I'm comin' with the wickedness so I can take them out with my style
style style style style when I bust the true school watch this hip hop

Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor
Won't stop drivin' till it's over still be crusin' when the sun goes down
Won't stop drivin' till it's over still be crusin' when the sun goes down

Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor
Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off ain't never getting lost
Which way will I turn when roads cross
Put the pedal to the metal a little more and it's scary
But one thing's for sure keep my foot on the floor

Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off
Put the pedal to the medal and I'm off
Pedal to the medal and I'm off

With a '62 bird and I'm out like that and I'm out
With a '62 bird and I'm out like that and I'm out

Pink Destroyer - Pedal Power Don't Stop

Artist: Pink Destroyer

Song: Pedal Power Don’t Stop

My Space:

"A bicycle does get you there and more And there is always the thin edge of danger to keep you alert and comfortably apprehensive. Dogs become dogs again and snap at your raincoat; potholes become personal. And getting there is all the fun."

As you know, a person riding a bicycle is the most efficient animal on earth in terms of travel for energy expended. The Pink Destroyer is an efficient machine, abominable snowmen united in the total erradication of a pink plauge. much of the world is already infested with the menace. it may seem futile but fear not!! with the help of those who bring it hard and rock you like a car accident, the pink destroyer shall redeem the world from its horrendous oppressors!!

NO! Pedal away from global decay
Every pedal strikes a blow for freedom
Every pedal strikes a blow against global decay What will we sacrifice?
What will we sacrifice for life and land?
When will we understand that we're responsible for the environment?
What will we justify?
Making way for you...
It's not your fault Don't know what else to do...
Taking the prescribed path, you'll have to wreck your life It's not our fault, we had to wreck our lives We wreck our lives.

Eric Herman - The World's Fastest Bicycle

Artist: Eric Herman & The Invisible Man
Song: The World’s Fastest Bicycle
Album: Kid In The Mirror (2003)

Eric Herman (real name Eric Herman Endres) is a children's music performer based in the Pacific Northwest. His music combines various styles of rock music with often wryly humorous kid-related lyrics to create what he refers to as "cool tunes for kids".

This is a
great cd from Eric HGrassettoerman. It is filled with fun catchy songs that our kids sing around the house. Our 2 year-old loves to say "No!" with the kids on the cd during the Elephant Song. The Dinosaur song is one of my favorites. His humor shines through in songs such as There's a Monster in My House. It is a fun cd to listen to.

My bicycles the fastest that the world has ever seen.
It has supersonic engines and a flame-retardant sheen.
My bicycle will travel a gazillion miles an hour.
It has rockets on the handlebars for supersonic power

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!
Go! Go! Go! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Here I come now on my bike!
The pedals both are jet-propelled to help you pedal faster.
The shifter is equipped with an electric turbo blaster.
The fender has a parachute in case you need to brake.
My bike is undeniably the fastest one they make.
Every time I take it out everybody starts to shout-

Chumbawamba - Mountain Biking

Artist: Chumbawamba

Song: Mountain Biking

Album: Sportchestra! 101 Songs About Sport (1998)

Formed in a squat in Leeds, England, in 1984, the anarchist pop group Chumbawamba were a most unlikely mainstream success story. After more than a decade in relative obscurity, much of it spent attacking the very notion of stardom, the band signed to a major label in 1997 and quickly scored a major international hit with the riotous single "Tubthumping." The single would prove to the band's commercial peak, even though Chumbawamba continued issuing politically aware albums (many of them featuring an increased emphasis on folk music) during the 2000s.

Chumbawamba were originally comprised of…Read more

Sportchestra: 101 Songs About Sport, is a Chumbawamba collaborations with various other musicians recording under the name 'Sportchestra': “About two-thirds of Chumbawamba wrote and performed this double album, along with various "guest" vocalists from Mekons, Citizen Fish etc. As it says, it's 101 songs about sport - short and snappy pop snatches, every one about the good, bad and ugly sides of sport.”

There's pedal bikes and motor bikes
And now they're riding mountain bikes
Up and down and out of town
Over, under, through, around
I ride my little bicycle, i ride it to the top
No red lights or traffic signs to tell me when to stop
There's racing bikes and motor bikes
And now they're riding mountain bikes
Up and down and out of town
Over, under, through, around

Eric Herman and The Invisible Man - The World's Fastest Bicycle

Artist: Eric Herman and the Invisible Man

Song: The World’s Fastest Bicycle

Album: The Kid in the Mirror

The Kid in the Mirror is the debut CD by Eric Herman and the Invisible Band. Highly acclaimed by kids and adults alike, The Kid in the Mirror features ten songs, including "There's a Monster in My House", "The World's Fastest Bicycle" and the much beloved "The Elephant Song".

"Engagingly sublime, with sophisticated artistry and magnificent wit." - Mindy, age 3

"Way cool!" - Sir Lord Alastair Huffington III, age 84

The Kid In The Mirror rocks with 10 tracks of cool tunes for kids, including such instant classics as "The Dinosaur, the Dodo and the Unicorn", "Video Game", "There's a Monster in My House" and "The Tiger and the Zebra". Five of the songs feature words written by renowned funny poetry author Kenn Nesbitt. Inventive arrangements, snazzy sound effects, imaginative lyrics, the engaging voice of Eric Herman and the punchy tightness and visual appeal of the Invisible Band all put The Kid In The Mirror at the forefront of contemporary children's music.

The real story about what happened to the dinosaurs, dodo birds and unicorns... An all-consuming video game... An extremely fast bicycle... A noisy, sleep-depriving monster... Ethereal dreams of flying... A hungry tiger and tasty zebra... A dangerously crazy mountain road...

Clapping, dancing and jumping along with the kid in the mirror... Elephants that swing through trees... The sun in a bathing suit and the moon in pajamas...

Yes, this album has it all! :o)

And here's the blah blah blah part...

Eric Herman has been a regular music and theater performer/writer in the Western New York area for over 15 years (by the name 'Eric Endres'). He has released several recordings of original music, spanning a wide variety of styles, and has regularly been nominated for area music awards. In addition to performing theater roles including Harold Hill and Alfie Dolittle, Eric has also written the book, lyrics and music for two full-length musical comedies, the first of which, A Week In The Life, was produced at the Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo, NY 2003 to much success and acclaim.

As a performer, Eric is known for being an accomplished and versatile guitarist and vocalist who performs poignant and memorable songs with a humorous and engaging stage manner that entertains audiences of all ages. Early in 2003, Eric began performing music for children at schools, day cares and other events, and quickly gained a reputation for involving kids in the performances and eliciting enthusiastic responses. Eric often performs with his backup group, The Invisible Band, which includes some of the finest invisible musicians in the world, adding a creative and fun element to the convention of backing tracks.

Eric's first album of music for children, The Kid In The Mirror, features ten memorable songs of tremendous wit, depth and musical craft, including five songs with words by popular funny poetry writer Kenn Nesbitt. Above all catchy, humorous, fun and imaginative in its variety of songs, The Kid In The Mirror also touches appropriately and creatively on important subjects like personal safety, self-esteem and bravery in the face of life's challenges.

what is not, not to like, a shiny bike
no lock, no key...it's there for me
it's for real, i'm gonna steal a pair of wheels
FSU...now you can too

I know soon that someone else
will claim my new bike for themselves
waiting for their lucky day
to make a speedy getaway

I am a bike thief...

our friend the dane, he does the same, no lock, no chain
he rides around ...all over town
to travel far, without a car, he pedals hard
so join the fun...you could have one

want to get from here to there
a bike can take me anywhere
it's not mine, but I don't care
I've had enough of playing fair

i'm riding free
so come with me
we'll be carefree
say it with me

I am a bike thief...

scope it out, you'll be without the slightest doubt
you want it now, i'll show you how
go down tonite, the time is right, it's in your sights
and if you dare, it's sitting there

Jad Fair Yo La Tengo - High School Shop Class Construts Bicycle Built for 26

Artist: Jad Fair & Yo La Tengo

Song: High School Shop Class Construts Bicycle Built for 26

Album: Strange But True (1998)

Strange But True contains 22 brief aphorisms inspired by absurd tabloid headlines. It is not unusual that Jad Fair is at his best when he is at his most frivolous.

Recorded over a two-day period, Strange but True doesn't sacrifice the talents of its individual collaborators. Jad Fair's nasally spoken musings, penned by his Half Japanese bandmate and brother, David, draw on supermarket tabloids for their themes and titles (e.g., "Minnesota Man Claims Monkey Bowled Perfect Game," one of two monkey-themed tracks) while Hoboken, New Jersey, legends Yo La Tengo construct sonic foundations that are alternately hazy, loose, or steeped in old-fashioned garage rock. Almost every track on Strange but True was recorded in one improvised take with the headphone-less band members unaware of what Fair was waxing over the vocal tracks. They probably all had a good laugh over the final product, and most listeners will, too. Strange but True is neither a novelty album nor a beatnik-poetry farce but two indie-rock icons having fun to positive results. When's the last time you heard something like that? --Jason Josephes

Jad and Yo La Tengo understand the obscure forces that drive them all too well. When they were told to get a life, they bought in bulk.
(NME)

music

Things got a little out of hand
In their high school metal shop
They constructed a bicycle built for two
Then decided they wouldn't stop
They welded together a number of bikes
So everyone had his own seat
After months of planning and welding and building
The project was finally complete
It had dozens and dozens of pedals
And plenty of headlights and bells
The frame and all the fenders
Were painted in pretty pastels
But it can't be removed from the classroom
The doorway is not very wide
And instead of the bikes lining up in a row
They connected them all side by side

biography

This song began as a Conga line theme for "The Adventures of Lano and Woodley" TV show ("The Wall" episode).

Push on a pedal, push on a pedal

Get your (gasp) heart started

Push on a pedal

Push it down and up again

Get on your bike, sit on the seat

Push your feet on the pedals

And ride it all around

Ride it all around

Oh, get that car out of my way

I want to ride my bike today

It keeps me fit and gets me there

And won't go stinking up the air

Leave behind the daily grind

And let your mind unwind

If it's life you tend to like

You'd better get yourself a bike

Oh, oh, get yourself a bike

Non capisco se tu
Pensi quello che dici
Io giocavo con te
Mi hai fottuto la bici
Ti ho fischiato ma tu
Pedalavi veloce
Ogni cane lo sai
Ha una zuppa che cuoce
Ogni estate noi due
Con la bici nei boschi
Io fumavo ma tu
Tu mangiavi le mosche
Il tuo pelo lo sai
Luccicava nel sole
Sei scappato da me
Tu mi hai fatto del male

Molti dicono che
La tua testa è malata
Ma una bici così
Tu l'hai tanto sognata
Mi dicevi che tu
Ti sentivi pilota
Con il senno di poi
Sono stato un idiota

Ohhh oh oh oh oh...

Non capisco se tu
Pensi quello che dici
Io giocavo con te
Mi hai fottuto la bici
Ti ho fischiato ma tu
Pedalavi veloce
Ogni cane lo sai
Ha una zuppa che cuoce

Luka Bloom - The Acoustic Motorbike

Artist: Luka Bloom

Song: The Acoustic Motorbike

Album: The Acoustic Motorbike (1991)

The younger brother of influential Irish singer/songwriter Christy Moore, Barry Moore had tired of being in his brother's shadow when he decided to relocate to the United States in 1987. Re-christening himself Luka Bloom during the long airplane ride, he took the first steps toward establishing his own reputation. A master interpreter, Bloom has continued to balance original songs with reinventions of tunes by a diverse range of songwriters. His reworking of LL Cool J's "I Need Love" transformed the song from its hip-hop origins to a brogue-inflected folk tune. His 2000 album Keeper of the Flame featured covers of tunes by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley, Nina Simone, U2, ABBA, Radiohead, and Tim Hardin. More

Rolling Stone says: " Luka Bloom proves more successful at evoking moods than making incisive observations on his second album, The Acoustic Motorbike. ... One of Bloom's most affecting performances on Acoustic Motorbike, however, is an impassioned reading of L.L. Cool J's 'I Need Love'. The prospect of a folky Irish rocker covering a rap ballad may seem strange, but experimenting with different forms is precisely what keeps established traditions vital. That's not to imply, of course, that the folk-rock minstrel is in danger of extinction. The times may be a-changin', but as long as people play guitars, write songs and sing - and move others by doing so - this custom will evolve and endure."

The day began with a rainbow in the sand
As I cycled into Kerry
Cattle grazing on a steep hillside
Looked well fed, well balanced
Close to the edge

Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on for miles
Pedal on
Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on for miles
Pedal on

I take a break, I close my eyes
And I'm happy as the dolphin
In a quiet spot talking to myself
Talking about the rain
Talking about the rain
All this rain

Pedal on
Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on for miles
Pedal on

You see whenever I'm alone
I tend to brood
But when I'm out on my bike
It's a different mood
I leave my brain at home
Get up on the sattle
No hanging around
I don't diddle-daddle

I work my legs
I pump my thights
Take in the scenery passing me by
The Kerry mountains or the Wicklow hills
The antidote to my emotional ills
A motion built upon human toil
Nuclear free needs no oil
But it makes me hot, makes me hard
I never thought I could have come this far
Through miles of mountains, valleys, streams
This is the right stuff filling my dreams
So come on, get up on your bike
Ah go on, get up on your bike

Pedal on
Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on for miles
Pedal on

Finally
With my face to that bitter wind
I bombed it into Killarney
Skin raw like a sushi dinner
And an appetite
That would eat the hind leg of the lamb of God
Even though you know
I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing
Then settle down for a quiet night
Think about what I've seen and done
And wonder

There's a reason for this
Now is the time
To speak of the problem troubling my mind
Sick of the traffic choking our towns
Freaking me out, bringing me down
Knock down houses, build more lanes
Once was a problem, now it's insane
My solution it's one that I like
It's Muddy
The Acoustic Motorbike
So come on, get up on your bike
Ah go on, get up on your bike

Pedal on
Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on for miles
Pedal on

Ah go on
Ah go on
Get up on your bike
Get up on your bike
